Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE)

This is type of examination which offered to candidates who have completed two years of secondary education (advanced level) and have had three credits at Ordinary level.

The Examination Calendar every year

The ACSEE is administered on every first week of may each year.

The objectives of ACSEE

The objectives of this examination are to assess the learner’s knowledge and ability of students or candidates to pursue with further education such as diploma and degree courses when they enter at Universities or higher learning Institutions; to examine the extent to which the learners can use the skills gained from their advanced level to meet the social, political, economic and technological challenges for the individual and the national development at large. Therefore, candidates at this level are expected to possess more skills  in a broad range of activities: knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation.

What are Eligibility of Candidates To Seats for the Examination.

Candidates who have  completed two years of secondary education (advanced level) and have had three credits at ordinary level examination are eligible to seat for these examination.

Examined Subjects/Courses

The examined subjects for those who are expected to sit for these examination in may are:

General Studies subject which is compulsory  for all advanced students.

Other subjects are depending on student’s combination, such that natural science which include Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM), Physics Geography and Mathematics (PGM), Economics, Physics Chemistry and Biology (PCB), Chemistry, Biology and Geography (CBG), Geography and Mathematics (EGM), Chemistry, Biology and Agriculture (CBA) and Chemistry, Biology and Food and Human Nutrition (CBN).

Another category know as Arts Combinations which Includes History, Geography and English Language (HGL), History, Geography and Economics (HGE), History, Kiswahili and English Language (HKL), History, Geography and Kiswahili (HGK), Economics, Commerce and Accountancy (ECA) and Kiswahili, English Language and French (KLF).

How are Examination Formats

Each subject has its own format which describes the structure of the whole examination paper, Sections and the amount of questions in which that particular examination covers. So a student must know the format of each subject according to his combination.
